MY WEEK 9 NFL RESULTS

Atlanta Falcons (5-3) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-4) | Falcons win 43 – 28. I did predict that the Falcons would defeat the Bucs, but not in this fashion. Matt Ryan pretty much destroyed the Bucs lack luster defense throwing for 344 yards and 4 TDs. Ryan connected with Julio Jones for 111 yards, giving him his fifth 100-yard receiving game of 2016. The next game for the Falcons is against the Philadelphia Eagles, and the Buccaneers will be hosting the Chicago Bears.

Detroit Lions (5-4) at Minnesota Vikings (5-3) | Lions win 22 – 16. Lions win in a close game as the Vikings continue to show some offensive woes over the past few weeks. It looks like we’re entering the post Norv Turner era for this team. The next game for the Lions is at home against the Jacksonville Jaguars, and the Vikings will be facing the Washington Redskins.

Pittsburgh Steelers (4-4) at Baltimore Ravens (4-4) | Ravens win 21 – 14. Even with the return of Big Ben, the Ravens played against him pretty well and rendered him ineffective. Ben was 23-45, 264 passing yards, 1 TD, 1 INT in his return. The Ravens are now at the #1 spot in the AFC North. Next week the Steelers host the surging Dallas Cowboys, and the Ravens will host the 0-9 Cleveland Browns.

New York Jets (3-6) at Miami Dolphins (4-4) | Dolphins win 27 – 23. The Dolphins have a great future ahead of them if they build around the current talent that they have now. Jay Ajayi has another triple digit game with 111 rushing yards, but it was the kickoff return from Kenyan Drake for 96 yards that sealed the win for the Dolphins. The Jets are at home next week against the Los Angeles Rams, and the Dolphins will travel to face the San Diego Chargers.

Dallas Cowboys (7-1) at Cleveland Browns (0-9) | Cowboys win 35 – 10. The ‘Boys are the #1 team in the NFC, and they are riding it on the backs of two dominant rookies. Much credit goes to the offensive line of this team, and they helped Ezekiel Elliott rush for 92 yards, and 2 TDs. Dak Prescott, he went 21/27, 247 passing yards, 3 TDs, 0 INTs. Next week the Cowboys will be tested against the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Browns will seek their 1st win against the Baltimore Ravens.

Jacksonville Jaguars (2-6) at Kansas City Chiefs (6-2) | Chiefs win 19 – 14. The Chiefs win in a poorly performed offensive game only totaling 231 yards. As they say though, a win is a win is a win. The Jags host the Houston Texans next, and the Chiefs are on the road to face the Carolina Panthers.

Philadelphia Eagles (4-4) at New York Giants (5-3) | Giants win 28 – 23. The Giants are an exciting team to watch, maybe Eli Manning doesn’t get enough credit, but he is a great leader on this team. He and Carson Wentz put up amazing yards combining for over 600+ yards, but it was Eli who had 4 TDs who left helped his team win. The Eagles fall to last in the NFC East as they host the Atlanta Falcons next, and the Giants will host on Monday night against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Carolina Panthers (3-5) at Los Angeles Rams (3-5) | Panthers win 13 – 10. The Panthers are trying to get back on the right track after starting off horribly so far this season. Despite Cam Newton getting sacked five times, he still managed his team to a win going 20/32, 225 passing yards, 1 TD, 0 INTs. Even with the meeting that Cam had with Goodell regarding the illegal hits he’s been taking, the Rams didn’t let up at all as he received another vicious hit during the game. Next week the Panthers host the Kansas City Chiefs, and the Rams will face the New York Jets.

New Orleans Saints (4-4) at San Francisco 49ers (1-7) | Saints win 41 – 23. It seems that whenever Drew Brees is involved, there is guaranteed to be a QB shootout. Brees went 28-39, 323 passing yards, 3 TDs, 0 INTs and Kaepernick went 24-39, 398 passing yards, 2 TDs, 1 INT. It seems as though the 49ers and the Browns will be fighting for the #1 or #2 draft picks by the way things are going. The Saints are at home next against the Denver Broncos, and the 49ers look to get their 2nd win traveling to play the Arizona Cardinals.

Tennessee Titans (4-5) at San Diego Chargers (4-5) | Chargers win 43 – 35. Melvin Gordon was the difference maker in this game helping his team win their 4th game of the season. Gordon had 196 yards on 32 carries, 1 TD, and an amazing scamper where he went for 47 yards. I expected the Titans to do a bit more, but the Chargers seemed to play with a purpose this game.

Indianapolis Colts (4-5) at Green Bay Packers (4-4) | Colts win 31 – 26. This week I gave the Packers the benefit of the doubt, but that didn’t help as they now have lost 2 straight games. For me, the 99 yard kickoff return by Jordan Todman that set the tone. The Colts didn’t look back from that point on. As of now, the Packers do not seem a threat as they now prepare to face the Tennessee Titans. The Colts have a bye-week.

Denver Broncos (6-3)at Oakland Raiders (7-2) | Raiders win 30 – 20. I knew this game would live up to the hype. The defending Superbowl champions against the young and high flying Raiders. Derrick Carr was only sacked twice this game and threw 0 interceptions despite the reputation that this stingy Broncos defense has. Latavius Murray ran for 114 yards and 3 TDs, while Jalen Richard added 62 yards rushing on 8 carries. The Broncos will hopefully bounce back next week as they travel to New Orleans to shoot it out with the Saints. The Raiders have a bye-week.

Buffalo Bills (4-5) at Seattle Seahawks (5-2-1) | Seahawks win 31 – 25. What a game!! Just from looking at the stats you would think that the Bills had this one in the bag. Tyrod Taylor went 27/38, 289 passing yards, 1 TD. The team racked up 162 total rushing yards, and Robert Woods had 10 receptions for 162 yards. This game was won by Seattle’s defense, and maybe a few blown ref calls too. Either way, the Bills will go into their bye-week with three straight losses, and the Seahawks will visit the New England Patriots in a rematch of Superbowl XLIX.
